🐻 Camping with wombats
💦 Chasing waterfalls
🌳 Forest drives

Tip: best time to find the wombats at Bendeela Camping Reserve is about an hour or two before sunset.

I finally wrote a new blog post! And of course i I finally wrote a new blog post!

And of course it’s another one from Tropical North Queensland because I spent the longest there out of all my travels and it’s the place I get the most questions about (apart from Bali).

Check out the link in my bio for:
How to spend a day on Fitzroy Island 🏝

I’m torn between focusing on North Queensland or writing some more about Indonesia. But also feel a little guilty that I’ve never written about my home state of Western Australia 🙃

So if you have any preferences on what I should write next, let me know.

Do you let your brain or your heart guide you? So Do you let your brain or your heart guide you?

Somewhere off the coast of Borneo lies this tidal sand cay.

At certain times of the day, it’s briefly shaped like a love heart. About half an hour after we arrived, it morphed into a brain.

Our tour guides insisted on taking @branjake and I to “heart island” for a honeymoon photoshoot - they had no idea we weren’t a couple and had actually met less than 24 hours earlier 😂

Now, if I had listened to my overly anxious brain, I absolutely would not have ended up in a place I’d never heard of, with zero phone signal and only one other English speaker. But it turned into one of my fave trips ever.

Something that’s really changed the way I make life choices is moving away from this battle between what my heart wants and what my brain thinks is right.

Instead I’ve started believing that what my heart wants is actually right. And my brain is should be treated as more of a temp check to make sure I’m not doing something incredibly stupid ✌🏽

Which shot is cooler though?
(I studied neuro and love anything brain related so you can probably guess what my fave is)

Throwback to when @emmacooksley11 and I hired a cu Throwback to when @emmacooksley11 and I hired a cute campervan and spent a night up in the Blue Mountains ⛰🌿

1. Our (free) campsite among the trees
2. A whistling kite perched on a branch waiting for a snack
3. Splashing around in Katoomba cascades - the water was a tad icy 🥶
4. The iconic Three Sisters
5. 60% stoked, 40% shitting myself
6. Birb romance 🥰

There was something so calm about this morning on There was something so calm about this morning on the freezing cold rocks, catching the sunrise over the ocean.

Instead of running around like an awkward emu trying to shoot my own content, all I had to do was stand there and @francescocamilloph did the rest 📸 he even managed to make me look graceful.

Which one is your fave?
Think mine is number 1 because of the seagulls having a dip in the background 🥹
Today I turned 28 🎉 Every year I like to share Today I turned 28 🎉

Every year I like to share some birthday wisdom, mostly because I get to look back on it years later and remember what kind of a person I was at the time. So here it is.

🧡 Life is all about the buffers.

There will always be shit times but a chat, a swim, a laugh - all those little things that make you feel lighter are the ones that are most important.

🧡 Talk about your feelings.

I never used to be able to admit my true feelings to myself, let alone talk to other humans about them. But there’s something so therapeutic about being brutally honest with yourself and sharing what you’re going through.

🧡 Amazing things happen when you throw yourself in the deep end.

My life has been very much like “I don’t have a clue what I’m doing” for the last couple of years and it’s been the most incredible journey. All my favourite moments have come from letting go of the need to control my life and instead letting life guide me to places and people I would have otherwise never met.

Here’s to the next year of wildness ✨
Can you believe these are all shot from the same r Can you believe these are all shot from the same rock?!

This one little spot in Royal National Park includes Eagle Rock (def more of a turtle vibe) and Curracurrong Falls which is one of only 3 waterfalls into Australia that empties into the ocean.

I’m shocked that I’d never heard of this place until @tessomewhere said she was coming to visit me in Sydney and we planned a little day trip.

Also now obsessed with waterfalls that flow into the ocean so if you know of any others lemme know 💦
